Remembering Henri Martin (August 5, 1860–1943)
Henri Martin was a French painter associated with Post-Impressionism and Symbolism. Renowned for his luminous landscapes and poetic scenes, Martin developed a distinctive style using small, vibrant brushstrokes that created shimmering light and rich color. Much of his work was inspired by the tranquil countryside of southern France, particularly the region around Labastide-du-Vert, where he spent much of his later life.
Martin's paintings often depict peaceful gardens, rivers, village views, and solitary figures immersed in nature.
