A previously unknown painting by the renowned French artist Renoir sold for 1.8 million euros at an auction in Paris.

The oil painting, "The Child and His Toys" depicts Renoir's second son, Jean, and his nanny, Gabrielle.

The work is thought to have been painted between 1890 and 1895.

Art historian and Renoir expert Pascal Perrin, who presented the painting, noted that it has never undergone restoration.
