A collector who wished to remain anonymous paid $43.8 million for a Monet painting.

Claude Monet’s Nymphéas (Water Lilies), painted in 1907, is a serene meditation on light and reflection. Inspired by his garden pond at Giverny, Monet dissolves the boundaries between sky, water, and earth, creating a dreamlike surface where lilies float amid shifting colors.
