The Lady of Shalott" (1888) is a famous Pre-Raphaelite painting by John William Waterhouse, inspired by Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s 1832 poem of the same name.
The artwork depicts the tragic moment when the Lady of Shalott, cursed to never look directly at the outside world, leaves her tower and drifts down the river toward Camelot.
She sits in a small boat, her expression melancholic, as she prepares to meet her fate.
The painting is filled with symbolism—the unraveling tapestry represents her severed ties to her enchanted prison, and the three candles (one extinguished) suggest life fading away.
Waterhouse, a Pre-Raphaelite artist, used rich colors, intricate details, and a dreamlike atmosphere to convey emotion and narrative.

I have nothing but good to say about the artwork and the vendor. The package was shipped almost immediately and arrived half a world away to me in mere days. Had it not been for delays because of a major northeastern US snow storm and the expected delay in US Customs, it would arrived even sooner.

Very good print, sharp image with beautiful colors and I really like this artwork. I did ask for it to be cropped according to the measurements of an existing frame I had, and to have it without white-borders. However the print I received did have borders and was not the exact size specified. Had a custom frame made and cropped the white borders at a local shop, so it still turned out great though, but something to keep in mind if you have an existing frame.

Quality is nice. Shipment was late but it’s okay because I was told about it. I will have to let it lay under something flat because it came in a tube but I am happy with this!
